Indian River Land Trust
I see an America whose rivers and valleys and lakes - hills and streams and plains - the mountains over our land and nature's wealth deep under the earth - are protected as the rightful heritage of all the people. - Franklin D. Roosevelt

Amendment #4 Good for Conservation
The Indian River Land Trust supports the Florida Conservation Land Amendment #4 on the November ballot. If approved by 60% of the voters, Amendment #4 will create two important incentives for land conservation across the state. It will:
  1. Give property tax exemptions for land placed in perpetual conservation easements.

  2. Direct the State Legislature to pass a law allowing land managed for conservation to be taxed according to its use.
We believe this amendment has the potential to better ensure large and small tracts of wildlife habitat and significant water resources are conserved for future generations.
